Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, was not present when President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Saturday night.
The President arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport after attending the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, where Nigeria signed a trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates.
Top government officials who received the President included Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and other senior aides.
However, Wike, who is usually among officials that welcome the President after foreign trips, was noticeably missing, sparking reactions and speculation on social media.
Reports say that while the President was abroad, Wike spent 17 days touring the 23 local government areas of Rivers State before returning to Abuja.
