Zaynab Ngohemba has given reasons why she decided to marry to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony at the end of 2024.
Their marriage has become a major talking point on social media and in political circles.
But in a statement on Wednesday and signed by her media aide, David Adeoye, Zaynab insisted that the marriage is a union “rooted in maturity, shared purpose and mutual understanding”.
It read, “It is a partnership shaped by maturity, shared purpose, and an understanding that personal stability strengthens public duty.
"Their partnership represents the meeting of two lives already devoted to public purpose. It is not a reinvention of either individual, but a reinforcement of shared values: humility, discipline, empathy, and responsibility.”
