President Bola Tinubu has summóned Rivers State Minister Nyesom Wike for a meeting to address the ongoing çrisis in Rivers State.
The meeting is expected to take place outside Nigeria, possibly in Dubai, amid reports that Governor Siminalayi Fubara has also flown out to meet Tinubu in France. This development comes as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, loyal to Wike, have initiated impéachment proceedings against Fubara and his Deputy, Ngozi Odu.
A source close to the President wárned that Wike's actions could destabilize the state, saying "The President must see the dánger in what Wike is doing... Wike cannot impéach Fubara; the President will call him to order".
