Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that Rivers State will deliver massive electoral support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, saying he is determined not to repeat what he described as past political mistakes.
Wike made the assertion while addressing supporters and political associates, stressing that lessons have been learnt from previous electoral cycles and alliances.
According to the former Rivers State governor, the state’s political direction going forward will be guided by pragmatism and strategic decision-making rather than sentiment.
He said Rivers people are increasingly aligning with the federal government and are ready to support President Tinubu based on performance, political stability, and national interest.
Wike argued that the South-South region, including Rivers State, stands to benefit more from active engagement with the centre than from political isolation.
Wike also emphasized that his current role at the federal level has given him deeper insight into governance and national politics, reinforcing his belief that collaboration with the Tinubu administration is the right path.
He assured supporters that mobilization efforts would be intensified across Rivers to ensure widespread backing for the president in 2027.
The statement has further fueled political debate in the state, especially within opposition circles, as alignments ahead of the next general elections continue to take shape.
