The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Anabraba announced his decision in a letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 1, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.
In the letter, he said his resignation was due to personal reasons. He also thanked the party for the support, opportunities and platform given to him during his time as a member.
He did not state his next political step.
However, sources close to the development say he may soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
