Even If Amaechi Contests Against Peter Obi For The ADC Ticket, The Chances Of Peter Are High - Ojo

A Political Analyst, Jide Ojo, has predicted that no presidential aspirant could defeat Peter Obi in an ADC primary election if former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar chooses not to contest.

He outlined the potential scenarios facing the ADC. "Perhaps there is a kind of an alliance or understanding that Atiku Abubakar will not run in 2027 and therefore will throw his weight behind Peter Obi, in which case the road will be clear.

Even if anybody—whether it's Amaechi contests with Peter Obi for the ADC ticket, the chances of Peter clinching the ticket are high if Atiku is not running," he said in an interview with Channels TV.

The analyst warned that Obi's chances would significantly diminish if Atiku decides to compete for the nomination.

"But if Atiku runs, then it means that it will be a battle—it should be a kind of rumble in the jungle—between two titans who were actually candidate and running mate in 2019 before Peter chose to leave the PDP and join the Labour Party in 2022," he alleged.

He highlighted that while Obi's popularity could overcome other challengers, Atiku's financial resources and established network within party structures could prove decisive in a direct contest between the former political partners.
