Hip-hop icon and business mogul Jay-Z has officially put an end to a years-long paternity dispute — and emerged victorious on all fronts.
On January 15, 2026, a federal judge dismissed the paternity lawsuit with prejudice, permanently shutting down claims brought by Rymir Satterthwaite. The ruling means the case cannot be reopened or refiled in the future.
In addition to the dismissal, the court ordered that approximately $120,000 in legal fees be paid to Jay-Z under California’s anti-SLAPP law, a statute aimed at preventing frivolous and harassing lawsuits.
The judge ruled that repeated efforts to compel a DNA test or force a financial settlement lacked legal merit, describing the prolonged legal push as baseless despite numerous filings across state and federal courts.
By applying the anti-SLAPP statute, the court not only ended the case but also held Satterthwaite’s guardian financially accountable — effectively closing the chapter once and for all.
Verdict: Case dismissed. No comeback. Jay-Z clears his name — and collects.
