A Niger Delta activist, Comrade Ogbidi Emmanuel, has come hard on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, describing him as a "political chameleon" who lacks consistency.
The activist made this statement on Saturday while reacting to Wike's recent verbal outburst against the former APC governorship candidate in Rivers State, Tonye Cole.
According to Ogbidi, it is hypocritical for the former Governor to attack Tonye Cole today when the political dynamics in the state have clearly shifted. He accused the Minister of trying to bully everyone who refuses to bow to his political structure.
In a statement made available to newsmen, the activist said: "It is shameful to see a leader speak from both sides of his mouth. Wike is a political chameleon who changes his colors whenever it suits his personal ambition."
Ogbidi Emmanuel further argued that Tonye Cole is a respected gentleman who has contributed to the development of the state, unlike those who believe violence and noise are the only ways to play politics.
He warned the FCT Minister to stop disparaging Rivers sons who are working for the peace of the state.
"You cannot claim to love Rivers State and yet attack every illustrious son of the state just because they don't agree with you. The people are tired of this dictatorship," the activist added.
This reaction comes hours after Wike reportedly made mocking remarks about Tonye Cole's political relevance in the state.
