The United Kingdom is rapidly developing nationwide contingency plans in preparation for a potential outbreak of w@r, according to Armed Forces Minister Al Carns.
Speaking on growing security concerns in Europe, Carns warned that modern wars are no longer fought by the military alone, stressing that societies, industries, and economies must work together to withstand large-scale conflict.
His comments echo recent warnings from NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, who said Europe must brace for the possibility of a major confrontation with Russia, comparable to past world wars.

The UK has reported a 50% surge in hostile intelligence activities over the past year, including spying and cyber att@cks. Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea are believed to be behind many of these threats.
In response, the British government is:
• Launching a new defence counter-intelligence unit
• Merging military intelligence branches into a single body known as the Military Intelligence Services
• Expanding w@r preparedness beyond the armed forces to include civilians, institutions, and government agencies
Carns emphasized that planning is advancing quickly, with officials working to define how civil society would function during a national crisis, including the protection of UK territory.
As global tensions rise, the UK says strengthening national resilience is now a top priority.
