The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refused to recognise the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki.
INEC made this known in a letter dated December 22, 2025, signed by its Secretary, Dr. Rose Oriaran-Anthony.
According to the electoral body, it cannot accept or upload the list of PDP national officers said to have emerged from the party’s convention held in Ibadan on November 15 and 16, 2025.
INEC explained that its decision is based on existing court rulings and ongoing legal cases surrounding the leadership crisis in the PDP.
The commission added that it would be wrong to recognise any faction of the party’s leadership while the matter is still before the courts.
