Owo Youth Festival 2025: Meet Senator Olajide Ipinsagba


Senator Olajide Ipinsagba Emmanuel, is a proud son of Ikare-Akoko in Ondo State, Nigeria, he was born on February 2, 1964. raised in a humble family that taught him the value of education, hard work, and service to others.

 Growing up in Ikare-Akoko, he witnessed the struggles of ordinary Nigerians, limited access to education, poor infrastructure, and scarce opportunities. Those early experiences shaped his belief that leadership must be about solving real problems and improving the quality of life for the people.

Senator Ipinsagba's educational journey began in Akoko land, where he completed his primary and secondary schooling. In 1987, he graduated from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, with a Higher National Diploma in Surveying.

 As a young sharp Eagering to deepen his understanding of business and management, he proceeded to Delta State University, Abraka, where he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2000. In pursuit of continuous learning and effective leadership, he later attended Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, earning a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in 2012. These academic milestones broadened his perspective and prepared him for the challenges of both business and governance.



Before venturing into politics, he built a career as a businessman and entrepreneur, contributing to the private sector and creating jobs for young people. His background in surveying strengthened his appreciation for infrastructure development and community planning, while his business experience taught him the importance of innovation and accountability. 


In 2007, he was appointed Special Assistant on Industrialization to the Governor of Ondo State. That appointment gave him a platform to promote local industries, support small and medium enterprises, and attract investors to the state.
In 2017, he was appointed a Member of the Ondo State Transition Committee, where he contributed to the formulation of policies that would guide the incoming administration. That same year, he was also privileged to serve as a Member of the Governing Council of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo a homecoming of sorts, as it allowed him to give back to the institution that had played a key role in shaping his early career.



In 2023, by the grace of God and the will of the people, he was elected Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly. His motivation for seeking elective office has always been rooted in service to be a voice for his people and to bring development closer to the grassroots. Since assuming office, he remained focused on legislative excellence and community empowerment. He has sponsored and supported bills and motions that reflect the aspirations of the people, including the bill for the establishment of the ICT University in Ikare-Akoko, which will open new frontiers in digital education and innovation in Ondo North.

His service to the people extends beyond the walls of the National Assembly. Over the years, he has initiated and supported projects that have brought real impact to communities across the senatorial district. In education, he provided scholarships and bursaries to deserving students. In agriculture, he has facilitated training programs and distributed fertilizers to farmers to boost productivity. He has constructed rural roads, civic centers, and health facilities, ensuring that development touches even the most remote areas.


Senator Ipinsagba has invested in women and youth empowerment, supporting vocational training and providing start-up grants to help young entrepreneurs and artisans start small businesses. Through various health interventions, he distributed medical equipment and materials to hospitals, and launched Operation Light Up Ondo North, an electrification initiative that has provided solar-powered lights to towns and villages, improving both security and economic activity in rural areas.


His philosophy is grounded in service, integrity, and empowerment. He believes that leadership is not about privilege but about responsibility. Every opportunity to serve is a call to make a difference in people’s lives. He is been driven by faith in God and unwavering belief that a better Nigeria begins with leaders who truly care about the people they represent.


His vision is to build a prosperous and self-reliant Ondo North where opportunity is not a privilege but a right; where education, agriculture, and enterprise are given the support they deserve; and where every young person can dream and achieve within their own community.
Although, he is deeply involved in public service, he remain a private and family-oriented person. He draws strength from family, mentors, and the people he served in the past, whose trust and prayers continue to inspire him.



As he continued to serve as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing the great people of Ondo North Senatorial District, his commitment remains unshaken.he will continue to pursue policies that promote good governance, accountability, and inclusive development. His journey from Ikare-Akoko to the National Assembly is a testament to the power of faith, determination, and collective trust.

 
One of his greatest fulfillment comes from knowing that his life and service are helping to build a better future for the people he represents.
