Ogbia Monarch, Delegation Visit Tinubu, Seek Development Projects

The monarch of Ogbia Kingdom, King Charles Owaba, has led a delegation of sons and daughters of the kingdom on a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.

During the visit, the delegation expressed appreciation to the president for appointing indigenes of Ogbia to key national positions, including the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). They said the appointments reflected the president’s commitment to inclusive governance and development in the Niger Delta.

The delegation also presented priority development needs of Ogbia Kingdom, including the Akaba–Okodi Road, construction of strategic bridges, shoreline protection for erosion-prone communities, and the establishment of a petroleum-related institute in Oloibiri, Nigeria’s first oil-producing community.

President Tinubu was said to have commended ongoing efforts at the NDDC and encouraged sustained, people-focused development initiatives across the Niger Delta.

The visit, according to the delegation, reaffirmed the strong relationship between Ogbia Kingdom and the Federal Government, with the community pledging continued support for the president’s leadership and vision for national development.
