The Jigawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the suspension of former governor and party founder, Alhaji Sule Lamido.
In a statement, Jigawa PDP called the suspension unjust and harmful to party unity.
They said Lamido was only exercising his legal right after being denied a nomination form to contest for PDP National Chairman. The Federal High Court had even ruled in his favor.
The party argued that punishing Lamido, who has been loyal to PDP for years, goes against reconciliation and could discourage other committed members. They called on the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) to withdraw the suspension immediately, respect members’ rights, and apologize to Lamido.
Jigawa PDP emphasized their commitment to a united, democratic, and law-abiding PDP, ready to challenge the ruling APC.
