ADC Crisis: Dino Melaye Rejects Claims of Faction, Says Leke Abejide No Longer a Member

.
Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has reacted to comments made by House of Representatives member Leke Abejide regarding the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a video posted on his verified Facebook page, Melaye dismissed claims of a leadership crisis in the party, insisting that there is no faction within the ADC. He stated that Abejide has already been suspended and later expelled by the National Working Committee of the party, and therefore cannot speak for the ADC.

Melaye accused Abejide, who represents Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency, of trying to create confusion within the party despite no longer being a member.

He added that the ADC remains united and strongly focused ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that the party’s national leadership is functioning without division.

Melaye also expressed disappointment that Abejide’s actions do not reflect the values and reputation of the Okun people, who he described as known for intelligence, character, and political maturity.

He further highlighted that past representatives from the area, lawyers, journalists, and experienced lawmakers set high standards, and said it was unfortunate that Abejide’s behaviour does not align with that tradition.

Melaye assured supporters that the ADC remains stable and committed to its political goals.
