Veteran journalist and ADC leader, Dele Momodu, has said that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has the best chance of becoming Nigeria’s president in 2027.
Momodu shared this view during an online discussion on X (formerly Twitter) focused on the 2027 general elections. According to him, Atiku’s long political experience and current condition put him ahead of others.
He noted that Atiku has been in the presidential race since 1993, when he stepped down for late MKO Abiola, and has remained consistent in his political journey.
Although Atiku lost the 2023 presidential election to President Bola Tinubu, Momodu believes that 2027 could be different if God permits.
Momodu described Atiku as healthy, successful in business, and stable in family life, adding that he lives a simple lifestyle. He also praised Atiku for showing respect to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, despite their past political disagreements.
According to Momodu, if circumstances align, Atiku could play a historic role in Nigeria’s democracy, similar to that of Abraham Lincoln in the United States.
