Trump is making a last-minute $2 million investment in Tuesday's gubernatorial elections in New Jersey and Virginia, betting he can turn out MAGA voters who typically skip off-year races when he's not on the ballot.
Each state gets roughly $1 million for get-out-the-vote microtargeting in the final 72 hours.
Trump lost both states in 2024 but made major gains, and these are the only 2 gubernatorial races happening this year, making them a key test of his agenda before next year's midterms.
Trump hasn't campaigned in person but held tele-rallies for both GOP nominees.
Meanwhile, the DNC spent over $7 million across both states plus Pennsylvania. Polls show Democrats leading in both races.
Joe Gruters, RNC chair:
"What you've seen just in the last couple of days is the president and all of our Republican forces have put even more money behind our efforts to turn out our votes because that's what it's gonna come down to.
We have to have Republicans show up on election day if our candidates are gonna have a chance."
