Veteran Nollywood actor Mustapha Bakare Otolo, popularly known as Baba Oloto, has sparked online discussions following a recent interview where he shed light on how actors in the Yoruba film industry earn their income.
Speaking candidly, Baba Oloto revealed that popular actor Ibrahim Chatta is currently the highest-paid Nollywood star, charging no less than ₦5 million per day for movie roles.
He went on to note that if Chatta features in up to 20 movies monthly, the earnings would be substantial compared to what veteran actors make. According to him, many older actors earn as little as ₦250,000 per scene, a disparity that explains why some of them struggle financially in their later years.
His revelation has since triggered a wave of reactions from social media users, with many weighing in on the wide earnings gap within the industry.
