Hackers reportedly breach phones of Dangote, Otedola, demand ransom

Hackers have gained unauthorized access to the mobile phones of Aliko Dangote, president of the Dangote Group, and Femi Otedola, chairman of First HoldCo Plc.

Sources close to both businessmen confirmed that their devices were compromised within the past week. Otedola’s phone was hacked once, while Dangote — Africa’s richest man — reportedly suffered two breaches in two days.

It remains unclear whether the two moguls have fully regained control of their phones, but insiders revealed that the attackers have issued financial demands. “The hackers are asking for money from both men.”

Dangote and Otedola share a long-standing relationship and often refer to each other as “brothers”. Otedola was present recently when Dangote announced plans to increase the capacity of his refinery from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million bpd.

During the event, Otedola described Dangote as “Africa’s pride” and praised the enduring impact of his investments.

“Aliko’s relentless commitment to investing in Nigeria and Africa will outlive him as these are legacy investments that will define generations,” he said.

“Soon, Nigerians will own part of this refinery, a powerful reminder that this vision is not just for Dangote, but for all Nigerians and Africans.”
