Gunmen have abducted the Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Samaila Bagudu, in his hometown in Bagudu Local Government Area of the state.
Sources said the gunmen invaded Bagudu town on Friday night, shooting indiscriminately before proceeding to abduct the Deputy Speaker.
Reports indicate that he was seized shortly after completing prayers at the mosque and was on his way home when the gunmen attacked and took him away.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, Ahmed Idris, confirmed the incident to Channels Television.
However, efforts to obtain additional details from the Kebbi State Police Command regarding the incident proved unsuccessful.
