Edo State-based political leaders have sparked widespread outrage after celebrating the physical assault of UK-based social critic and Edo native, Albert Obazee.
Obazee was slapped by a man during a live stream, stemming from a prior online feud between the two. The attack, captured live on camera, shocked viewers as the assailant physically confronted Obazee over past disagreements.
In a highly controversial development, some leaders of the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reportedly pledged ₦ 1 million to the man responsible, celebrating the act as a “digital slap.”
The incident immediately ignited debates over political violence and harassment, drawing strong condemnation on social media:
