Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, has said the Federal Government already knows the people responsible for the killings happening in different parts of Nigeria.
He spoke during an interview on Arise Television, reacting to the recent rise in killings and kidnappings across the country.
Cardinal Onaiyekan said it is clear that Nigerians are being killed and no one can deny the reality anymore.
He criticised the government for always trying to deny or reduce reports of mass killings. According to him, this approach does not match the fear and pain millions of Nigerians face daily.
He called on the government to focus less on politics ahead of 2027 and pay more attention to protecting the lives of citizens.
“The government knows those carrying out these killings. What we need now is action to keep Nigerians safe,” he stressed.
