Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, says Nigeria should expect a very tough match when they face the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final of the 2026 World Cup African playoffs on Sunday in Rabat.
The Super Eagles reached the final after a strong 4–1 win over Gabon, while DR Congo shocked Cameroon 1–0 to book their spot.
Troost-Ekong said the team is fully motivated but must give their best to beat Congo, who have also shown great quality in the tournament.
According to him, every match brings a new kind of challenge. He explained that Gabon were dangerous on counter-attacks, and Congo will bring a different style and strength.
He added that the players are excited and focused because everyone wants to qualify Nigeria for the FIFA World Cup.
