The House of Representatives has raised alarm over a terrorist threat to bomb the National Assembly Complex, emphasizing the need for enhanced security within the legislature. Chairman of the House Committee on Internal Security, Hon. Garba Ibrahim Muhammad, revealed the disturbing development during a committee session, noting that the intelligence report underscores rising concerns about national security.
He urged the leadership of the National Assembly to establish a Legislative Security Directorate that would be responsible for proactive intelligence gathering and internal safety coordination. Muhammad stressed that protecting lawmakers and staff is crucial, especially in light of the country’s evolving security challenges.
