Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has said his new role as Deputy Chairman of the FIFA Men’s National Teams Competitions Committee proves that Nigeria is gaining more respect and recognition in world sports.
Speaking in an interview on Arise Television on Thursday, Pinnick thanked God and FIFA for the honour, saying the appointment was not just about him but about Nigeria’s progress on the global stage.
“I’m truly humbled by this opportunity,” he said. “This committee is one of the most important in FIFA because it handles all competitions — from the World Cup to the U-20, U-17, and even the Club World Cup.”
Pinnick added that the appointment shows how far Nigeria has come in football administration and how the country continues to make a mark in global sports leadership.
