The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recorded major successes in its fight against drug trafficking and abuse, securing 9,263 convictions out of 45,853 suspects arrested nationwide over the last 30 months.
According to the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA also seized over 8.5 million kilograms of illicit drugs in numerous operations across the country.
Chairman/CEO Mohammed Buba Marwa disclosed these figures while presenting commendation letters to 220 outstanding officers, commending their dedication and impact.
The agency says these efforts have significantly curbed both the demand and supply of illicit drugs in Nigeria.
