N100 Million for Politics While Ondo Suffers - PDP Slams Aiyedatiwa

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ondo State Chapter has berated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa over reports that he gifted a whopping ₦100 million of public funds to a partisan outfit known as the Tinubu Solidarity Group (TSG).

In a statement signed by its Director of Media and Public Communications, Wándé T. Àjàyí, the PDP described the act as a mockery of the suffering people of Ondo State and a reckless abuse of public trust.

At a time when Adekunle Ajasin University in Akungba-Akoko lecturers have downed tools, hospitals are inhabitable, and public schools costlier than private, the Governor is busy throwing ₦100 million at political loyalists. Àjàyí noted that the money reportedly went to groom two of Aiyedatiwa’s political allies, a former Minister and a former Commissioner from the Central and Southern Senatorial District respectively, in preparation for the next election.

According to him, it is scandalous that a government that cannot provide water in rural communities, cannot equip hospitals, and cannot reopen its universities could suddenly find ₦100 million to fund a political project. He said the development exposes the depth of moral decay within the present administration and shows how disconnected it has become from the real needs of the people.

The PDP accused the Governor of prioritizing his political ambitions over the welfare of citizens, describing his government as a theatre of greed masquerading as governance. The statement also challenged Governor Aiyedatiwa to publish the record of its expenditure, insisting that the people of Ondo State deserve transparency and not political indulgence funded with taxpayers’ money.

The PDP reaffirmed its commitment to standing with the people of Ondo State and holding the Aiyedatiwa government accountable for every act of waste and deceit.
