Mother of Israeli Hostage Says She Still Doesn’t Know If Her Son Is Alive or Dead

The mother of an Israeli man abducted by Hamas on October 7, 2023, has expressed that she remains uncertain whether her son is dead or alive. However, she holds "real hope" that former US President Donald Trump's peace plan will lead to the return of all hostages held in Gaza.

Herut Nimrodi expressed to BBC News that she was "fearing the worst" for her son Tamir, a non-combat soldier. However, even two years after his abduction, she continued to hold onto hope that "he's still hanging on."

She mentioned that he was the sole Israeli hostage whose family had not been informed about his status, whether alive or deceased.

The peace plan proposed by Trump is gaining traction, with indirect talks anticipated to continue on Tuesday between Hamas and Israel in an effort to end the conflict and secure the return of hostages.
