Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has called for peace amid growing military tension with the United States, pleading against what he described as a potential “crazy war.” 😟
Maduro’s appeal came after U.S. President Donald Trump revealed he had authorized covert military operations in the Caribbean and Pacific — actions Washington claims are part of an anti-narcotics campaign.
Speaking during a meeting with labour unions, Maduro said in English:
“Yes, peace, yes peace forever. No crazy war, please!” ✌️
The U.S. has reportedly deployed stealth warplanes and navy ships, but has yet to provide evidence that the targeted vessels were involved in drug trafficking.
