The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Board and Management of the state-owned Lobi Stars Football Club, Makurdi.
According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, the governor’s decision is part of ongoing efforts to reposition the club for greater efficiency, accountability, and improved performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and other competitions.
Governor Alia directed all members of the dissolved management to hand over official documents, assets, and responsibilities to the Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Creativity without delay.
While expressing appreciation to the outgoing board and management for their services to the club and the state, the governor assured that a new management structure would soon be announced to drive the next phase of Lobi Stars’ growth and competitiveness.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sports development as a vital tool for youth engagement, talent discovery, and social cohesion across Benue State.
