The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) has officially endorsed the Bonny Kingdom Boat Regatta, recognizing it as a major platform for promoting cultural tourism in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of the Council, Obi Asika, the NCAC commended the 2024 edition of the festival for successfully engaging over one thousand youths and attracting traditional leaders, dignitaries, and more than two thousand spectators.
The endorsement was formally conveyed to the Managing Director of Graftons Place and Media Services, Tonye Ibiama, organisers of the event.
Asika further pledged the Council’s media and technical support for the 2025 edition of the regatta and urged stakeholders and corporate organizations to collaborate in sustaining and expanding the festival’s growing cultural and economic impact.
