Nigerian air force opens world-class helicopter flying school in Enugu

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially inaugurated its International Helicopter Flying School (IHFS) in Enugu State.

The school is designed to train top-tier helicopter pilots for both military and civilian roles. This marks a major milestone in Nigeria’s aviation sector, emphasizing skill development and operational excellence.

Equipped with modern facilities and staffed by experienced instructors, the IHFS aims to produce pilots capable of competing globally. The initiative demonstrates NAF’s commitment to enhancing airpower across Africa while providing new career opportunities for Nigerians.

NAF partnered with Aeronautical Engineering and Technical Services Limited and Triax Airlines Limited to bring the project to life. The school represents a major step toward modernizing aviation training in Nigeria and strengthening the nation’s defense capabilities.
