“The Name Has Come to Stay” – Rita Edochie Defends May Yul-Edochie’s Decision to Keep Ex-Husband’s Surname After Divorce

Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has spoken out in support of May Yul-Edochie’s decision to retain the surname of her ex-husband, actor Yul Edochie, following their public separation.

Taking to Instagram, Rita criticized those questioning May’s choice, asserting that the name “Queen May Yul-Edochie” is here to stay. She dismissed online trolls and critics, urging them to mind their business and focus on their own lives.

“Her name remains Queen May Yul-Edochie even after the divorce because you did not give her the name,” Rita wrote. “Why so much hate on someone who doesn’t even know you exist?”

She further encouraged fans to stay positive, trust God’s timing, and stop comparing themselves to others.

“Don’t rush or compare your journey to others. Just like the sun and moon, we all have our own unique time to shine,” she added.

Rita’s defense comes amid renewed social media chatter surrounding May’s marital status and public persona following her divorce.
