On Monday, former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo visited the residence of the Nigerian High Commissioner in London to prepare for the arrival of former President Muhammadu Buhari's body in Nigeria.
The former leaders visiting London to offer their condolences to Buhari's family were welcomed by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Buhari, who served as the leader of Africa's most populous nation both as a military ruler and later as a civilian president, passed away at a clinic in London on Sunday.
On Sunday, President Bola Tinubu instructed Shettima and his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to travel to the United Kingdom in order to escort the late former president's body back to Nigeria.
Buhari's body is anticipated to arrive in Nigeria on Tuesday and will be laid to rest later that day in his hometown of Daura, located in Katsina State.
