The Rivers State Police Command has declared two senior officials of the Ahoada East Local Government Area, Hector Ekakita, Chief Security Officer, and Aloni Olodi, Chief of Staff, wanted for their alleged roles in a violent assault on the council’s administrator, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor.
The attack, which occurred on June 20, 2025, at the council secretariat, involved Ekakita and Olodi allegedly leading a group of approximately 30 youths to forcibly enter Iheanachor’s office. According to SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Command’s spokesperson, the suspects physically assaulted the administrator, stole vital documents and personal items, and coerced him into signing a resignation letter under duress. Iheanachor, appointed by the state’s Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), is currently receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained.
The police have charged the duo with criminal conspiracy, assault occasioning harm, attempted murder, and theft. After failing to respond to prior invitations for questioning and reportedly going into hiding, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, declared them wanted.
SP Iringe-Koko urged the suspects to surrender immediately at the Police State Headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, warning that anyone found aiding or harboring them will face legal consequences. The public is encouraged to provide information on the suspects’ whereabouts via the Police Headquarters or designated hotlines.
The Rivers State Police Command reiterated its commitment to upholding justice and maintaining peace and security across the state.
