The Falaye Science and Mathematics Olympiad (FSMO) held its award ceremony on Wednesday July 16, 2025, recognizing outstanding students in Owo Local Government.
The event was declared opened by veteran educationist, Chief Bisi Ogunleye, who congratulated the students for having the opportunity to benefit from the mentorship and sponsorship of Dr. Foluso Falaye.
Chief Bisi Ogunleye described Dr. Foluso Falaye as "not just a blessing, but also a passionate man who believes so much in education."
He urged the students "to keep their spirits high, and keep encouraging the Sponsor to do more sequel to their excellent results."
Speaking at the event, FSMO soonsor, Dr. Foluso Falaye, highlighted the significance of the program to educational advancement in Owo Local Government.
He stated, "One of the objectives of the FSMO is not just to prepare you for JAMB exam, but to prepare the students in full totality and to also be able compete favourably at the international stage which can only be achieved by serious students who go extra-mile in their studies to challenge best students in global exams, like the SAT or the CAT."
He added, "We will support you to get scholarships; All we want from you is to just be focused."
Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, Coordinator of the Olympiad Competition, praised Dr. Foluso Falaye's passion for academic excellence and explained the genesis of the Falaye Science and Mathematics Olympiad (FSMO) as it has now advanced to the second edition.
He said, the program has produced the best students in JAMB exam in Owo LGA, and he's happy to say; Master Precious Olamide scored 347, becoming one of the best students in the exam in Owo and Nigeria at large.
Mrs. Olanisimi Ladele (Nee Falaye) commended her sibling, Dr. Foluso Falaye for his laudable project. She charged the students "to prioritise their education and key into this opportunity made available to them by the FSMO." She warned against "the influence of peer pressure and the prevailing social vices in our communities which are Cultism, Internet Fraud, and all forms of youthful exuberance."
Winners of the competition received cash prizes, trophies, medals, and other rewards.
Salami Oluwadamilola of Dominion Academy won first place with ₦150,000 cash, a trophy, medal, and a mobile tablet.
Babade Rejoice from Leadership Academy took second position with the sum of (₦120,000) and a medal
Meanwhile, Oshomah Paul of Ebenezer Academy claimed third position with the sum of (₦100,000).
Other top 10 winners includes Odeyemi Toluwanimi-Owo High school, (4th, ₦40,000), Adeluwoye Omolola - Dominion Academy (5th, ₦30,000), and
Adenegan Eriayomi Greatprints (6th, ₦25,000),
Others ranked among the top 10 positions are, Julius Oluwadarasimi (I made College), Dedeigbo Joshua (AUD), Omisade Excellent (St. Louis), and Adeyemo Samuel (Bellez) were handed cash price of ₦20,000 each.
Commending the Sponsor, Mr. Sanni Ajimuda, Tutor General of Ondo State, appreciates Dr. Foluso Falaye's foresight and initiative.
He described Dr. Falaye's efforts "as an inspiration, not just to the students, but also to the community at large."
Owo High School principal, Mr. Tunde George expressed joy over Dr. Falaye's inspiring contributions to his alma mater and Owo.
Dr. Foluso Falaye reiterated his commitment to the growth of the students, aiming to "Put Owo On the Global Map" through the FSMO project.
