Vice President Kashim Shettima stated on Thursday that, despite their differing political ideologies, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition are essentially united.
While making this disclosure, Shettima referred to Nasir El-Rufai, a significant member of the ADC coalition, as his elder brother.
The Vice President delivered a speech at the launch of the book "OPL245: The Inside Story of the $1.3 Billion Nigerian Oil Bloc," written by Mohammed Bello Adoke, SAN, a former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice.
He referred to Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), as a leader who is "fire-spitting."
Shettima expressed that the ties uniting the political class are more powerful than those separating them.
Shettima remarked, "Is the game changer still here? No, he has moved on. Yet there's Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai—the former Governor of Kaduna State and a notable figure in the Nigerian Governors' Club—controversial yet unforgettable. Alongside him is Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the dynamic leader of the Kwankwassiyya Movement. The presence of numerous dignitaries showcases Mohammed Bello Adoke's diverse network, including members from PDP."
We have a new PDP, with our coalition strongly represented by my elder brother, Malam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai. Additionally, we are joined by the NNPP, APP, and APC. This truly represents a vibrant mix of perspectives and diversity akin to a kaleidoscope of colors.
What unites us is far more significant than what separates us. Former IGP MD Abubakar leans towards the PDP, but ultimately, we are all one. Despite our minor political differences, my relationship with him remains strong and positive.
