Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al-Nassr is reportedly preparing a stunning £73 million (€85 million) offer for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. This bold move is part of the club’s strategy to bolster their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, with Cristiano Ronaldo and new manager Jorge Jesus prioritizing the addition of a high-profile left winger.
Martinelli, 24, has been a vital player for the Gunners since arriving from Brazil’s Ituano in 2019 for just £6 million. Al-Nassr turned their attention to Martinelli after unsuccessful attempts to lure Liverpool’s Luis Díaz, who remains unavailable despite interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich. The proposal from Al-Nassr includes a staggering tax-free salary of €20 million per year—almost triple Martinelli’s current £180,000-a-week wages. The club also hopes to use the appeal of Cristiano Ronaldo, Martinelli’s childhood idol, to sway the Brazilian. Martinelli once said in a 2023 interview, “I always looked up to Cristiano Ronaldo growing up.”
While the financial incentives are huge, Arsenal reportedly have no intention of selling. Martinelli remains a cornerstone of Arteta’s long-term vision, and discussions are already underway over a new contract. The player himself referred to Arsenal as “my home” during an interview with ESPN in April 2025, and sources close to him suggest he is content in London and not actively seeking a move.
Al-Nassr’s interest comes amid internal changes at Arsenal, including the departure of youth coach Mehmet Ali to Brentford and the exit of several academy players. While some supporters argue a major sale could free up funds for marquee signings like Eze or Rodrygo, many fans are calling on the club to retain Martinelli, one of their most consistent performers.
