Victor Olabimtan, Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), over the claims made in an open letter published earlier today, titled "Job Racketeering and Sales of Slots in Ondo SUBEB by Hon. Victor Olabimtan – My Story and Travail in Nothingness."
Upon further review and reflection, we acknowledge that the story, as narrated by the anonymous author under the pen name Olukoya Abidemi, was based solely on a personal account that lacked independent verification. It was a one-sided narrative that failed to provide credible evidence or offer Hon. Olabimtan an opportunity to respond before publication.
We recognize the reputational damage and emotional distress that such a post may have caused Hon. Olabimtan and his family, and we sincerely regret the harm done.
As a responsible platform, Peoplesmind holds itself to the highest standards of ethical journalism and public communication. In this instance, we admit that we fell short of these standards, and we unreservedly retract the allegations made against Hon. Olabimtan.
We also extend our sincere apologies to the Ondo State Government, the SUBEB leadership, and the general public for any confusion or misrepresentation that may have arisen from the earlier article.
