Aghahowa Collins, an aide to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, has warned that only the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be permitted to display campaign banners and posters in the state ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a video he posted, Collins asserted that any individual or group promoting another political party would face consequences, emphasizing that Edo is under APC control and that all political promotion must reflect the ruling party.
He also recalled how, during the 2023 general elections, the administration of former Governor Godwin Obaseki allegedly removed and defaced APC campaign materials, including those of President Bola Tinubu.
According to Collins, the APC plans to enforce a similar stance in 2027 to reaffirm its authority in the state.
He partly said …
“In 2027, if we see any other political party’s banner or poster that is not APC, the person on it and the person who posted it will learn a new lesson. Edo is APC state and everything has to be APC….”
