Segun Showunmi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar, has expressed that he sees no hope for survival in the newly formed coalition.
Several political figures from across the nation have recently joined forces under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to create a coalition opposing the Tinubu administration. This alliance aims to challenge and unseat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming general election through democratic means.
Included in its ranks are notable politicians such as Chibuike Amaechi, the former Governor of Rivers State; Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State; David Mark, a past Senate President; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who served as Vice President; and Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State.
Amaechi, Obi, and Atiku have notably declared their intention to compete in the ADC presidential primary election.
Showunmi, a prominent PDP figure who recently met with President Bola Tinubu and seems to have softened his previous criticisms of the administration, mentioned on Channels Television that members of the coalition would eventually turn against each other as political tensions rise.
"They will argue amongst themselves about anything," he remarked.
"Everyone in the coalition suddenly wants to be president at once, making it difficult for them to reach a consensus."
