UNN PhD Student Abducted During Morning Jog, Kidnappers Demand N10 Million Ransom

A postgraduate student pursuing a PhD at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has reportedly been kidnapped while jogging within the university campus during her regular morning exercise.

The incident was brought to public attention by a user on X (formerly known as Twitter), who identified himself as @theoriaku.

According to him, the abducted woman is a close friend and a doctoral student at the institution.

He revealed that the kidnapping occurred inside the school grounds and that the kidnappers have since made contact, demanding a ransom of ₦10 million for her release. Sharing his concern online, @theoriaku wrote:

“A friend of mine and a postgraduate student (Ph.D.) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is currently missing. She was kidnapped this morning during a morning walk/jogging inside the school.”

He also expressed frustration at the lack of urgency and concern from the university’s security personnel:

“We have involved the school security who are acting unconcerned about the entire case. The kidnappers are asking for a ransom of ₦10 million. Her details are attached in the pictures above. Any information will be appreciated 🙏.”
