More opposition lawmakers will join APC soon ~ Ebonyi party chairman, Emegha


The leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ebonyi State chapter, has disclosed that the party is still expecting the defection of more House of Representatives members from opposition parties.

The Ebonyi APC recently received the member representing Ezza North/Ishieleu federal constituency, Joseph Nwobashi, who defected from the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Following the development, the member representing Afikpo/Edda federal constituency, Iduma Igariwey and his Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo federal constituency counterpart, Nkemkanma Kama, are the only remaining in House of Representatives members in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Labour Party, LP, respectively.

Also, three House of Assembly members in the state elected on the platform of APGA, LP and PDP have defected to the APC.

The state APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, who spoke during the weekend, said he is in talks with one of the House of Representatives members which will lead to his defection to the APC in a few weeks time.

Emegha who refused to mention a particular federal lawmaker that will soon join the party, revealed that discussions with the House of Representatives member have gone far, which will manifest in his defection to the APC.
