Man who got 4Fs and 3Es in WASSCE earns PhD and lectures in top UK university

Ghanaian man George Asiamah has taken to Facebook to share a deeply personal and inspiring reflection on his remarkable transformation from academic failure to academic excellence.

In a post that has since touched many hearts, George recounted how in 2003, he found himself "in chains" after earning an 'F' — a moment he describes as the lowest point in his educational journey.

"But instead of letting failure define him, he credits the version of himself from 2007-2008 for changing the course of his life.

“If you ask me now how I made it,” he wrote, “I will say, all credit to the 2007-2008 version of me.

"The one who picked up the broken pieces, dusted off the shame, and quietly decided that failure was not going to be his final chapter.”

By 2018, his perseverance had paid off with a PhD scholarship—an achievement he describes as a 15-year walk “from grass to grace.”

George ended his post with a word of encouragement to others facing setbacks:

“If you're holding a broken script right now—just know that your story isn’t over. You can still change the plot.”
