Honourable Adefiranye Festus, an esteemed member of the House of Representatives representing Ileoluji/Okeigbo & Odigbo Federal Constituency, has taken a proactive step to address a devastating incident that occurred within his constituency. In a commendable move, he utilized the Order 8, Rule 4 of the House of Representatives to present a motion titled "Fuel Tanker Explosion at Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State that Claimed Over 30 Lives."
This is to show how urgent and important the Motion is, as the house rules was suspended in order to pave way for the presentation of the Motion.
The motion brings to the attention of Honourable Members the unfortunate fuel tanker explosion tragedy that occurred recently in the bustling town of Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area. This heart-wrenching incident resulted in the tragic loss of more than 30 lives, including children and a pregnant lady leaving the entire community devastated.
Honourable Adefiranye Festus, with his astute leadership and dedication to serving his constituents, has taken it upon himself to ensure that this appalling incident does not go unnoticed. By presenting this motion, he aims to bring the urgent attention of lawmakers and concerned stakeholders to the dire need for proper safety measures, regulations, and infrastructure in the transportation of hazardous materials within Ondo State and the entire nation.

His prayers and resolves are:
i) observe a minute silence in honour of those who lost their lives
ii) direct The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to immediately send relief materials to affected victims and settle medical bills of those hospitalised.
iii) set up an Ad-hoc Committee to investigate the cause of the incident with a view of proffering solutions and preventing recurrence in other parts of the country within four(4) weeks for legislative action..
iv) mandate the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Road Safety Corps to clear the trucks on the highway to forestall future occurrence.
However the First prayers was observed as Honourable Members observed a one minute silence to those who lost their lives in the tragic event. Moreso the motion is referred to Ad-hoc Committee once constituted after been supported by majority of Honourable Members.
